DBT is a comprehensive treatment program developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, based on Dialectics and Biosocial Theory. DBT is helpful for many challenges in life, including self-injurious and impulsive behavior, mood dysregulation, cognitive distortions and chaotic interpersonal relationships.
Lindsay Gervino successfully completed DBT Skills Training: Introduction & Fundamentals through Dr. Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech Institute. This allows Lindsay to provide DBT Skills Training classes that adhere to Dr. Marsha Linehan’s model.
DBT Skills Training Groups require an ongoing commitment to attend one session per week, for the entire program/curriculum, which runs approximately six months (25 weeks).
New members can join at the beginning of each mindfulness section, if space allows.
DBT Skills Training Group classes are NOT group therapy. We teach skills, members practice skills (required homework), and the group debriefs on skill acquisition (questions, challenges, and successes).
